It’s been a little while since I’ve given you a Shasta video, right?
Here’s one from 2010…my co-pilot and I were chillin’ in town while these guys were getting crazy, but we were around when the whole group came rolling back with…well, you just have to watch the end of the video!
Mule Town Road.
Not much needs to be said about Mule Town Road. 2010 Shasta Trip. What started as a road quickly turned into a goat trail that knocked off one guy’s roofrack, gave me a decent dent in my nose (rock pushed the bumper up into it), and was definitely a challenge.
I’m stoked that you see my bus in this video as much as you do. You can hear me in a couple parts of the video on the radio, as well. This road pushed my limits as a driver at the time and I was ready to turn back despite 20 buses in front of me having just taken the same route. But they encouraged me onward and it was a great success!
Shasta Snow Trip 2010 - Platina to Mule Town Road
So here’s a stretch of road where I wasn’t with much of the group until toward the very end. In fact, you can see Gene pull out in front of my bus right about the 3:58 mark, but you can also hear me over the CB around 3:16.
Usal Road - 2010
This is what’s known as a Shasta Post-Trip. In 2010, a damp year, but not horribly so, three guys decided to strike off through the mountains of Northwestern California and tackle Usal Road which empties out along the coast.
They did it at night. In the rain. And the road was atrocious!
The Entire 2006 Shasta Trip in Under 12 Minutes
You might want to grab the anti-nausea meds for this one….
Shasta 2008 - Bartlett Springs Road Splitscreen!
Okay, this is pretty cool dual video of footage Gene & I both shot in 2008. He was leading, I was following, we were both filming. He chose to frame it this way…sorry if your heads explode!
Getting my son introduced to Shasta videos early! Watch out 25th annual Shasta Trip!
Oh…my…god! ROFL!
There’s been some discussion on the Samba thread about the state of the Eel River campsite on the trip and who buried their, um, waste and what was already there and so on and so forth.
And then someone made this! :D Edit…just realized I’d posted the wrong one. It’s fixed now!
Castle Lake Camraderie and Sunday’s Endgame
One last one from Gene for the time being. These people…this is why I love Shasta!
To the Rampaging Spot!
Gene’s video today takes us back in time to the beginning of the trip. The trek to the Rampaging Spot, the route planning, and the Thursday morning driver’s meeting.
I Wanna Be an Airborne Bus Driver!
Gene’s latest masterpiece from up in the Gumboot Lake area. Definitely a must watch for nearly a dozen different buses going over the jump. Sadly, he doesn’t catch the Flying Pamper, but catches the cellphone video of someone who did catch it.
If that makes sense….
Gumboot Lake
Gene’s latest video in which the group heads up to (well, toward) Gumboot Lake before having to do the ole “turning around in the snow” thing again.
Shasta’s Not All About Driving
Well, it’s mostly driving…until the snowpack stops you and you have to turn a dozen buses around.
Then it becomes about snowball fights and some weed.
