The Disc Brake Saga Continues

For those of you new to the blog, I upgraded my front end to disc brakes last year. Sadly, the kit came with no instructions whatsoever so I didn’t know what to torque stuff down to, that I should have removed the residual pressure valve from the master cylinder, etc.

The result: my discs are warped and need to be machined true. Hasn’t stopped me from having to drive on them…I mean, the bus is my daily driver. But it does need to get fixed.

Talked to Ronnie at type2parts.com (great guy! top-notch service! if you need bus parts, give him business!) and learned that other people have had this issue and the manufacturer asks that we give them a call and then ship the hubs down to them in So Cal where they’ll machine them true and ship them back.

Cool, right? Yes. Save for the fact it means my bus could be down and in the driveway with its nose in the air for the better part of a week!

Hmmm.
