Off to Vegas
Tomorrow morning we leave at a stupidly early hour for the day after Christmas to travel with friends (no, not in the bus) down to Las Vegas. It’ll be my wife’s first visit and my first since I was 19! So there likely won’t be many updates for the next week or so unless I see some old VWs along the way! So Why Do the Wackiness that is Shasta?
I’ve found myself thinking of late just how many Shasta Trips I have left in me. It is genuinely a stressful affair and despite the idea floating around this year about making 2011 a two-stage affair, I find myself asking every now and then why I choose to throw myself and my daily driver into such wackiness. Nothing like 120 miles of wet weather driving to expose every last leak and flaw in your bus. I might still be sending postcards from Lake ParcelTray this year. And I need to do some weather/waterproofing. Ugh.
